Continuing Education Units are available to all EPE workshop participants. EPE PARTICIPANTS WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO REGISTER AND PAY FOR CEU UNITS DURING FORMAL CHECKIN HOURS! Please note that EPE participants will not be able to sign up and pay for CEU units prior to formal check-in hours.

AN IMPORTANT ORIENTATION MEETING FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS (required for University Credit) WILL BE HELD ON CAMPUS ON
SUNDAY, AUGUST 2 AT 7:00 P.M. One Continuing Education Unit (CEU) = ten contact hours of participation in organized continuing education/training experience under responsible, qualified direction and instruction by definition of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). For each ten contact hours of Workshop participation you will receive one CEU. Attendance at all instructional sessions for 20 contact hours over 5 days = 2 CEUs, 30 contact hours over 5 days = 3 CEUs, and 40 contact hours over 5 days = 4 CEUs. In order to receive CEUs, the appropriate fee must be paid and attendance will be taken at all sessions. Earned CEUs may help maintain certification or licensure, or may document your continuing professional development for an employer, association, or credentialing agency. Cal Poly Continuing Education maintains a record of the CEUs you have earned through our programs and courses. CEUs are for non-credit courses or programs. They cannot be converted to quarter or semester hour credit. Although Continuing Education Units are widely accepted by school districts in California and neighboring states, you should check with your district before registering. CEUs are paid at registration on August 2, 2009. Retroactive units cannot be awarded. One copy of your Cal Poly transcript is included in your CEU fee and will automatically be mailed to the address listed on your registration form. CEUs earned and reflected on a Cal Poly transcript may be used towards the professional growth requirements of your state. Refer to your State Department of Education for more information. Registration and payment for the CEUs will take place at Formal Check-in on Sunday August 2, 2009.

Credit Information

For 2 Units of Credit, participants must attend 20 Hours if instruction.
Those hours must take place between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., and include General Sessions, Sunday Night Orientation, or Break out Sessions.

For 3 Units of Credit, participants must attend 30 Hours if instruction.
Those hours must include Sunday Night Orientation, ALL General Sessions (Monday – Friday 11:15 a.m.), and at least 16 of the 17 Break Out Sessions through out the week.

For 4 Units of Credit, participants must attend 40 Hours of instruction.
This would include all the above. Plus 10 additional hours participating in Share Times
(4:45 p.m. Monday – Thursday), Evening Socials (7:30 – 9:30 p.m. Monday – Wednesday), and/or morning workout-scheduled sessions (Monday – Friday)

PLEASE make sure you hand in your Attendance Card to the Volunteer in charge, and pick it up at the end of each session. The number on the upper left hand corner will help you to identify your card. If you misplace your card, please come to the Workshop Office during office hours.

At the last General Session, please put your social security number on your card and turn it in to the Volunteer at the door.

Note: When an individual registers for CEUs and does not meet all the requirements to receive credit for the CEUs they registered for, they will receive a no/credit on their first transcript.  After we update their record with the correct amount of CEUs earned, we will email the person and let them know that their record has been corrected and they will be able to purchase a transcript ($4.00) with the amount of CEUs earned.  It could take us up to two weeks to get the records updated and the records office will not rush transcripts, so the person must make sure they sign up for the CEUs they can complete.
